Nominations open for DSC Social Change Awards

Howard Lake | 26 September 2008 | News

The Directory of Social Change is running its Social Change Awards for the second yeear. The awards are designed to celebrate “the passionate individuals and effective organisations committed to making a positive impact on society.”
DSC say that the awards are meant to be different from the many other charity sector awards. “The awards are fun, informal and inclusive”, they say.
You can nominate yourself or your organisation or you can nominate others. You don’t have to be a charity to enter; indeed, individuals, community groups, companies, public bodies or charities are all invited to apply.
The award categories are:
* Everyday Impact Award
* Influencer Award
* Investing in Social Change Award
* Public Body Award.
There is no cash award on offer, just a framed cartoon by Grizelda. Indeed, DSC says “forget linen table cloths and hefty ticket prices” when it comes to the events ceremony, due to take place in December.
The deadline for nominations/applications is 17 October 2008.
