New conflicts of interest guidelines issued for arts charities

Howard Lake | 18 April 2008 | News

The Charity Commission, together with the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has issued new conflicts of interest guidelines for arts charities.

This is intended mainly for trustees of charitable museums, galleries and libraries, including those sponsored by DCMS. It sets out how trustees should identify and manage conflicts of interest and examines the different issues that could arise, including conflicts of loyalty and direct or indirect financial gain or benefit to a trustee.

The guidance can be downloaded from the DCMS website at www.culture.gov.uk/Reference_library/Publications/archive_2008/charitable_mus_gal.htm
