University of Geneva offers course for international fundraisers

Howard Lake | 25 February 2008 | News

The University of Geneva is to offer ‘the first course of its kind aimed at the development of international fundraisers’. The course will be taught on a part-time basis from October 2008 to June 2009.
The course will cover key areas of resource mobilisation, including recent developments and trends from a number of countries around the world. The course’s style will be “highly participative” and participants “will be invited to apply what they learn to their own work”.
The course is being run in partnership with the Resource Alliance on a non-profit basis. Any surplus funds generated by the course in Geneva will be used to support the development of courses in less developed countries, including providing subsidised places for local nonprofit staff.
There are two application deadlines; the first deadline of 1 May 2008 offers an early bird discount of 10% for individuals, and final bookings must be made by 1 July 2008.
