Miniature Earth – statistics made compelling

Howard Lake | 25 January 2008 | Blogs

Statistics are hard to make interesting and appealing, but creative video can achieve it. While we’ve all heard the story of “if the world’s population was 100 people, then…“, (or 1000 people, as originally devised), I have just come across a compelling video interpretation of it on YouTube.

In fact, in YouTube fashion, there are a number of variations on that video with differing musical accompaniments. For me, the use of ‘Mad World’ as covered by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules, works best.
Charities and fundraisers are awash with statistics. Does the above inspire you to do something creative with them and engage new audiences?
