Bankers Benevolent Fund to support National Autistic Society

Howard Lake | 28 November 2007 | News

The National Autistic Society (NAS) is working in partnership with the Bankers Benevolent Fund to help as many families as possible from the banking community who are affected by autism. The Fund will give up to £750,000 to the charity during the one-year ‘Investing in Brighter Futures’ programme.

The Bankers Benevolent Fund is a charity for bank employees, past and present, and their dependants. Those bank employees and their families who live with the lifelong disability will be eligible to apply for an individualised package of NAS support services. Services such as the help! programme, will be offered based upon individual needs. In addition, every applicant family, successful or not, will be given Life Membership of the NAS.

Marie Street, an employee with The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) and mother of a 16 year old son with autism, said: “I urge families in the banking community, living with autism who are thinking about applying to the Investing in Brighter Futures programme to do so. The right support can make an enormous difference to peoples’ lives.”
