International relief and development agency World Vision (UK) multi-channel customer communications agency Broadsystem to manage the text response handling for its annual 24 Hour Famine youth fundraising campaign next March.

Broadsystem’s work gets underway from 1 October when a campaign will encourage prospective fundraisers to text ‘Famine’ to 81222 to request a fundraising pack.

Broadsystem will collect and validate consumer data “through a series of fully automated text interactions” which will enable accurate and cost-effective fundraising pack despatch. World Vision appointed Broadsystem without a competitive pitch because of its “proven pedigree in the field of intelligent text interaction management”.

Caroline Worboys, CEO at Broadsystem, said: “The use of SMS activity will make it easy for the audience to get involved in the campaign and provide a cost efficient means for World Vision to establish dialogue with its key audience for this campaign.”

The 24 Hour Famine itself takes place from 14-16 March 2008.
