Flash mob meets fundraising for NCH Byte Night

Howard Lake | 25 September 2007 | Blogs

Flash mobs can offer a useful campaigning or PR tool to charities and voluntary organiations. The ability to conjure up a group of people at short notice with a mobile phone text alert and persuade them to appear at a given location at a given time, do something (quite often something unusual or amusing), and then disperse, is a PR officer’s dream.
But flash mobs have not been in evidence much for fundraising, unless you know otherwise. One did, however, take place on 6 September to help publicise NCH’s Byte Night fundraising event on 5 October. Sarah Beavis reports on how it worked at Where flashmobs meet fundraising.
