T-Mobile offers mobile phone recycling to benefit charities

Howard Lake | 26 August 2007 | News

Mobile telecoms operator T-Mobile has partnered with Fonebak to encourage poeple to recycling their old or unused mobile phones. Such phones can be worth up to £80 and Fonebak will pay this to a nominated individual or a charity of the sender’s choice.

To recycle a mobile phone you can pick up a freepost recycling bag at a T-Mobile shop. Purchasers of a new phone will receive one automatically.

“Anyone can put their old phone in our freepost bag and reduce waste and make money, either for charity or themselves,” said Jim Hyde, CEO of T-Mobile UK
