Blackbaud identifies additional 20% in unclaimed Gift Aid

Howard Lake | 20 August 2007 | News

Through its internal audit and analysis, Blackbaud has discovered that up to 20% of Gift Aid records contain errors or omissions that mean most charities are unable to claim the Gift Aid on them.

Blackbaud’s own Gift Aid process allows charities to capture this percentage through its compliace review, which is an annual internal audit and analysis of clients’ Gift Aid records. It ofers precise remediation plans to secure the Gift Aid on these records.

The system has been developed with advice from HMRC and includes modules for individual donations and sponsorship. It folows four key stages: current and historic form capture, identification of differences, remedial plans where appropriate, and ongoing management to ensure claims are maintained and up-to-date.
