Starfish Greathearts Foundation is encouraging people across the country to donate their day’s salary to the thousands of children in southern Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.

“Currently we’re supporting more than 23,000 children who have been affected by this pandemic, but in South Africa alone 1,000 people die every day from AIDS leaving roughly 500 orphans daily” says Ruth Charlton of Starfish. “We desperately need to support these children, so are asking people to work for one day for us”.

The charity works with a number of organisations at grass-roots level to deliver sustainable programmes in keeping with the needs of the community.
