Norwich Union raises over £250,000 for the fight against muscle disease
Employees from Norwich Union have raised £251,000 for the company’s staff charity of the year 2006, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Employees from all sites across the UK got behind the partnership after 2 employees, Andy Bode and Keith Dunsire nominated the Charity as a result of their personal experience of muscle disease. Employees efforts raised £136,000 and an additional £115,000 was donated by the company.
The money raised by the partnership will fund the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s Care Advisor in Glasgow for a year, a research project into Limb Girdle muscular dystrophy, 3 major publications and a number of other care projects across the country. The publications will address the need for information about muscle disease for schools, parents and young children facing these conditions.
