BBC News reports that red noses have been banned from the set of the BBC’s celebrity Fame Academy TV show because the foam noses could pose a fire risk to the venue.

It is not just red noses that are banned at the the Grade II-listed County Hall in central London but also papers, bottles and bags.

A spokeswoman told BBC News: “We have to comply with health and safety rules – it’s not a conventional TV studio.”
