Royal Mail wants 6p increase on stamp price

Direct mail fundraising could shortly get considerably more expensive for charities. According to the BBC (Royal Mail seeks stamp price rise), “Royal Mail is asking for a six pence increase in the price of UK stamps to stem losses and ensure its survival”. This is one of a series of proposals it has put to regulator Postcomm this week.

If this goes ahead, then a first-class stamp will cost 38p and a second-class stamp 29p.
