Institute and North East CVS Network Announce Training Partnership

Howard Lake | 8 December 2006 | Newswire

The Institute of Fundraising (‘Institute’) and the CVS network in the North East have announced a new fundraising training partnership. The Institute has developed an innovative in-house training programme for CVSs in the North East comprising an accelerated version of the Certificate in Fundraising Management, tailored for Funding Advisers.
The objectives of the partnership between the Institute and the North East CVS network include:
· To enable Funding Advisers to challenge their existing thinking and approach to fundraising, exposing them to new ideas and practice that can be passed on to charities they support
· To equip Advisers with the tools to provide best practice information in accordance with the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice
· To build a strong base of fundraising skill and expertise throughout the CVS network in the North East.
Amanda Shepard, Director of Professional Development at the Institute of Fundraising says: The Institute’s partnership with CVSs in the North East gives us a great opportunity to provide grassroots support, tailoring delivery of the Certificate in Fundraising Management to meet the specific needs of Funding Advisers in the region.”
Belinda Lowis, Chief Officer of Chester-le-Street CVS adds: Our trainer is excellent and really knows her stuff. This course is challenging, but the subsequent benefits for all those involved, in terms of quality standards and enhanced reputation means that this is of real value to us and the frontline VCS. Funding has primarily come from ChangeUp/ Capacity builders.”
