Conference to address confidence in fundraising

The Irish Charity Tax Reform Group’s (ICTRG) 15th Annual Conference Fundraising Codes of Practice – the ring of confidence -maintaining public confidence in Irish Charitieswill be held on Thursday 28th September at the Gresham, Dublin. Consumer advocate Eddie Hobbs will make the keynote address.

The conference focuses on the issue of public confidence in charities and how this might be reinforced through regulation of fundraising by agreed codes of practice as proposed in the draft Charities Regulation Bill 2006 published in March.

Eddie Hobbs, the keynote speaker will give the consumer perspective on what inspires public confidence in charities and Paul Whelan from O2 will give a donor’s view. Sheila Nordon and Peter Cassells will talk about a research project funded by the Dept. CRAGA and being carried out by Irish Charities Tax Research Ltd on how regulation of fundraising by agreed codes of practice might operate in Ireland.
