Cheshire Building Society has raised almost £20,000 for its charity of the year ChildLine, hitting its target for the year in just six months.

The Society raised this amount through various activities including sponsored walks, book sales, raffles, dress down days, and white water rafting.

One member of staff, Janet O’Connor, alone raised £2,000 by walking 120 miles, visiting 12 Cheshire branches in the process. A team of 25 runners also raised £10,000 for ChildLine at this year’s Manchester 10K run.

Mark Bradshaw, Corporate Fundraiser for ChildLine added: “The Cheshire has been great to work with and has embraced the charity challenge across its head office and individual branches.”

The Society has also pledged an additional £10,000 for ChildLine’s 20th Birthday Ball in November.
