Howard Lake | 26 June 2006 | Newswire

Staff and guests from St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington, are inviting North-East businesses to join them for a day at the races to help raise much-needed funds towards the charity’s palliative and respite care services.
The Catterick Racecourse Charity Day, which is held annually in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice, is taking place from noon until 5pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, and local firms are being offered the choice of two VIP packages to help make it a day to remember.
The exclusive Corporate Hospitality package, priced at just £70 per person, includes luncheon at 12.30pm, entrance to the Members’ Enclosure for all of the day’s races, access to the private bar and use of the Private Tote betting facility in the corporate hospitality suite.
For the third year, a top-of-the range Race Sponsorship package is also being offered, to give guests the star treatment, alongside a unique opportunity to publicise their business. For £1,350, companies can have one race named after their firm, with this name appearing in betting shops nationwide, as well as in local and national newspaper race listings.
The company will also have a full page race-card advertisement, plus the chance to utilise on-course banners, which will be seen on Satellite Sports Services (SSS) which is transmitted into 10,000 UK betting shops. This package also includes corporate hospitality for 10 people, including a luncheon, private bar and tote, with a clear view of the finishing line.
All proceeds raised from both packages will go directly to St Teresa’s Hospice, to help fund the vast array of services it provides.
All of the services that are currently offered by the Hospice, including day-care, counselling, alternative therapies and at-home care services, are provided entirely free of charge to anyone living in South Durham and North Yorkshire .
St Teresa’s Hospice Director, Jane Bradshaw, said: The Catterick Racecourse Charity day is a unique event and a thoroughly enjoyable day. This is a great opportunity for local companies to show their support for St Teresa’s Hospice and have a truly fantastic time.”
