Deafblind UK offers places to other charities at Suffolk ladies driving challenge

Howard Lake | 2 June 2006 | News

Deafblind UK are inviting people to fundraise for their own favourite charity at the sponsored ladies driving challenge at RAF Bentwaters, near Woodbridge in Suffolk on Sunday 11 June 2006.

Deafblind UK have not managed to fill the spaces in their 20-person team at next weekend’s event so are welcoming any interested participants.

The event is only open to teams, not individuals, so this is probably the only opportunity open to anyone keen to take part in the event. As Nicky Jackson of Deafblind UK said: “this is a great chance
for small charities to take advantage of our circumstances!”

Drivers get to drive a sports car, bus, HGV, digger, golf buggy, or Landrover.

Nicky added: “We have paid £35 each for the 20 places at this event and at the present we are £665 out of pocket. All we ask is that you reimburse us the £35 out of the sponsorship money you raise – the rest is yours, to donate to your own charity.”

She added; “Of course, if you want to give us a bit extra for the opportunity, then we really won’t complain!”.
