Bowel Cancer UK uses viral email for Wimbledon tickets competition

As part of Bowel Cancer UK’s new digital approach to fundraising, tickets for Wimbledon, along with memorabilia from Tim Henman are being offered as part of a viral email campaign.

The campaign has been sent to an opt-in list of over 100,000 email recipients. Although the viral email is in its early stage of deployment, the results are already very encouraging. Each mail is being forwarded to an average of four people who are subsequently invited to join the competition. The more people that each person refers, the more entries into the draw they receive. Each person can refer up to 10 friends and family.

The opt-in database that is created from this activity will provide a new source of potential donors and supporters that will receive regular updates on fundraising activities throughout the year.
