"A Night in Atlantis": Annual IT Ball Raises Funds for Youth Charity

Howard Lake | 17 May 2006 | Newswire

Rapidly establishing itself as a highlight of the technology industry social calendar, the fifth annual Intellect IT Charity Ball takes place at the Honourable Artillery Company, City Road, London on Tuesday 27 June.
This year’s theme is ‘A Night in Atlantis’. Organisers anticipate 500 guests who will enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing, fairground rides, entertainers and celebrity guests. Martyn Lewis CBE, one of the UK’s best-known broadcasters, is the compère.
Proceeds will go towards the expansion of the YouthNet charity’s online service, www.TheSite.org, which provides confidential, anonymous and expert support to young people in need.
The IT Ball is organised by Intellect, the IT, telecommunications and electronics industry trade association and supported by the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) and Computer Weekly. The Ball is sponsored by Cable & Wireless, Cerillion, DCS Automotive, Deloitte, EDS, Intel, Symantec and Xerox Global Services.
The first Intellect IT Charity Ball was held in 2002 and organisations including National Childrens Homes (NCH), Barnardo’s and the Treehouse Trust have benefited from funds generated by the events. Last year’s Ball alone raised over £72,000 in aid of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
For further information about the Ball, including booking details, visit the event website, www.ITBall.org. Tables and additional sponsorship opportunities are still available. So don’t miss out!
