The new self-regulatory body for fundraising in the UK is to be called the Fundraising Standards Board.

The name was announced by the recently appointed Chair and Director of self-regulation, Colin Lloyd and Jon Scourse.

The Fundraising Standards Board is now looking to recruit three Lay Members who will “represent consumer interest on the Council”, and a Marketing Services Manager who will be responsible for developing and promoting self-regulation to the donor public and the charity sector.

The Fundraising Standards Board will be independent of the Institute of Fundraising and will be established as a Community Interest Company.

Jon Scourse, Director of the Fundraising Standards Board, explained the need for the Board: “Self-regulation is a chance for charities to come together and demonstrate the high fundraising standards to which they work. It is an opportunity to champion fundraising, to build consumer confidence in what we do and to celebrate success.”
