Unicef Ireland last week raised nearly ‚€100,000 from the premiere of Neil Jordan’s new movie Breakfast on Pluto which aired in Dublin. Ralph Fiennes, Cillian Murphy (nominated for a Golden Globe for this role), Neil Jordan, Stephen Rea, Gavin Friday, Eva Birthistle and Ruth Negga were among the names and faces in attendance.

Due to the sponsorship of the film premiere by IrishJobs.ie and the attendance of 700 guests at the premiere and party at Lillies Bordello, UNICEF Ireland raised nearly ‚€100,000 which will go to UNICEF’s programmes supporting children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.

Liam Neeson and Stephen Rea are both Ambassadors for UNICEF Ireland and they thanked Neil Jordan for gifting the premiere to UNICEF. Speaking on behalf of Liam and UNICEF Ireland, Stephen said: “Both Liam and I have been to Africa and seen firsthand the devastation that HIV/AIDS is causing to children. Every euro raised by this evening’s premiere will help UNICEF bring hope to children whose lives have been torn apart by HIV/AIDS.”
