Christmas run raises ‚€ 180,000

Irish third world charity Goal raised ‚€180,000 this Christmas after 10,000 people turned out to run or walk the charity mile at 43 different locations. The money will go towards Goal’s humanitarian work in a number of countries.

The largest event took place at UCD’s Belfield track in Dublin where 4,000 people, including former international athlete Eamon Coghlan and RTE presenter Ryan Tubridy, participated on Christmas day and raised ‚€75,000.

Other major locations for the run included Tullamore, Santry and Galway where ‚€20,000, ‚€14,000 and ‚€12,000 were raised respectively.
