Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has announced an extensive programme of new events and publications intended to drive up giving to charities worldwide.

CAF is launching a new lecture series, parliamentary seminars, policy seminars, conferences, and research briefings on methods of giving.

CAF’s new Getty Lecture series has been launched in memory of the late philanthropist Sir Paul Getty KBE who supported charities in the UK and overseas. The first Getty Lecture will be given by Sir Digby Jones, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry on 6 February 2006. His topic will be the state of corporate giving in the UK and the role of business in supporting voluntary activity.

In June 2006 CAF will hold the first in a series of Parliamentary Seminars at the House of Commons. These events will examine the state of giving and volunteering in this country and internationally.

In addition the charity will run a programme of regular conferences and seminars during 2006 including a regular policy seminar on fundraising and self-regulation and an annual seminar focused on companies and how they might grow their involvement in the community.

CAF will also build on its respected ‘Charity Trends’ publication by publishing a new series of research briefings on different ways of giving.
