The funding is given to bodies whose activities encourage the active participation of young people in public life and society and help develop and implement youth cooperation across the EU. The EC will provide grants of up to 50% of a successful organisation’s operating costs.

The programme supports permanent activities of bodies pursuing an aim of general European interest in the field of youth or an objective forming part of the European Union’s policy in this area.
