Heart charity launches appeal for volunteers

The British Heart Foundation is trying to boost its number of volunteers with a recruitment campaign, ‘Count Me In’, supported by celebrities including Gloria Hunniford, Casualty actor Will Thorp and Birmingham City footballer Mario Melchiot.

Running throughout September and October, the appeal aims to recruit new volunteers across the UK.

The charity is hoping the campaign can build on the profile of the Year of the Volunteer Give A Billion Minutes campaign which is asking members of the public to pledge their time to good causes in 2005.

The campaign promotes volunteering as a great way to learn new skills, make new friends and have an enjoyable and fulfilling time supporting a lifesaving charity.
