Two banks' employees raise £100,000 for the British Heart Foundation

Howard Lake | 29 August 2005 | News

Employees at Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank have raised £100,000 in just eight months for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The banks launched their first Charity Partnership in January this year, each making a £20,000 donation to the cause. All funds raised by employees since the launch have been matched £1 for £1 by the banks.

The banks held a number of fundraising events, including a ‘wear something red’ day on Valentine’s Day and a ‘wear something red on your head’ day during the BHF’s Help a Heart Week in June. Also among the activities that week was a ‘Departmental Triathlon’ where competitors cycled, swam and ran or walked a total of 874 miles.
