Line-up for Researchers in Fundraising conference announced

Speakers at this year’s Researchers in Fundraising conference in September have been announced.

The confirmed speakers are:

* Fraser Alexander: Senior manager, The Foundation for the Blind, New Zealand. His session will cover the donor decision process, understanding the relative importance of factors involved in making a
charitable giving decision, and his work on researching and reaching out to the right people at the right time with the right message.

* Ann Shadrake: Development Director, Eureka! The Museum for Children. Using examples from recent projects at Eureka! Ann will illustrate how good research feeds into business planning, an organisation’s
direction and how it can influence the shape of projects.

* Jonathan Glasspool: Publishing director of A&C Black, publishers of “Who’s Who”. Jonathan will talk about how Who’s Who is compiled and researched.

* Susie Blundell: Membership Co-ordinator, Institute of Fundraising: how the Institute can work with prospect researchers.

The event is sponsored by ProQuest Information and Learning, who will be presenting KnowUK, the online collection of over 100 of the top UK reference titles, and NewsUK, an online database of UK’s national and regional newspaper titles. They will be demonstrating their use in the area of researching for fundraising and donors.

The conference will be held on 22 September at NCVO, London N1.
