Save the Children launches supporter upgrade campaign

Save the Children is approaching its 4,500 Children’s Champions supporters asking them to increase their monthly donation to join Child Link, a fundraising initiative that helps thousands of children in a region of the donor’s choice.

A direct marketing drive conceived by TDA will highlight the scheme’s key benefits and encourage recipients to raise their contribution to £15 per month. Child Link donors will receive regular updates on the charity’s work in their selected region “through the eyes of one child”.

“We are targeting loyal supporters who have been giving to Save the Children for at least four years,” said Charlie Stradling, Child Link Coordinator at Save the Children. “Child Link will allow them to get closer to the cause and see how their money is used to help empower communities to make a real, sustainable difference.
“The ethical issue of directly funding individual children in poverty stricken communities has led us to take a more general approach in recent years. However, we believe Child Link strikes a good balance and will appeal to this target group.”

Sarah Don-Bramah, Account Director at TDA, added: “Child Link marries the best aspects of direct sponsorship with a generic committed gift. We are confident that our creative strategy will motivate targets to upgrade their level of support.”
