Action Planning launches roadshow on statutory funding developments

Fundraising consultancy Action Planning is to hold five funding conferences in June and July offering more information on this week’s announcements by the Home Office on Compact Plus, kite marks, and the expansion of Futurebuilders, together with new developments at the Big Lottery Fund.
The Funding Roadshow will be held in London on 15 June, Bristol on 27 June, Leeds on 4 July, Birmingham on 6 July, and Peterborough on 11 July 2005.
The roadshow will cover the major new changes to statutory funding including the introduction of ‘Compact Plus’ (a proposed opt-in scheme to simplify contracting relationships), ‘Capacity Builders’ (a new sector-led agency to manage the ChangeUp fund), a proposed ‘kite mark’ for public sector funders and charities delivering public services, and additional funding of £70 million for ChangeUp and £90 million for Futurebuilders.

- Home Office Active Communities Directorate Director, Jitinder Kohli, and the Head of the Active Community Unit, Andrew Morley, and colleagues on Compact Plus, the kite mark, new procurement guidelines and Futurebuilders and ChangeUp investments.
- Regional funders’ panels presenting an opportunity to question the leading statutory and trust funders in your region plus local case studies on how to develop successful statutory funding relationships and sustainable funding strategies.
- ACEVO Chief Executive, Stephen Bubb, on how to recover your full costs and the ‘surer funding’ campaign.
- Charity Finance Directors’ Group Chief Executive, Shirley Stott, and Deputy Chief Executive, David Membery, on how to calculate the real cost of service delivery and negotiate with confidence.
- Action Planning Principal, David Saint, and Senior Fundraising Consultant, Alex McIntosh, on how to develop a balanced fundraising strategy with a mix of statutory and voluntary income.
Each conference will last from 10am to 4pm, followed by a ‘networking’ reception with speakers and guests until 5.30pm.
