RSA to host discussion on charitable giving after the tsunami appeals

A panel of experts will next week discuss the future of charitable giving in the wake of the response to the Asian tsunami disaster appeals at the beginning of this year.

Over 200 leading figures from the charity, media and financial sectors have been invited to discuss the future of charitable giving at an evening event on 10 March 2005 at The Royal Society of Arts, London.

Charities Aid Foundation’s Chief Executive, Stephen Ainger, will be one of the panel members. He will be outlining the picture of charitable giving in the UK, as well as discussing whether charities not connected to the tsunami appeals have suffered a drought in donations since the disaster and how the sector can create a sustainable culture of giving.

‘Charitable Giving Post Tsunami’ is organised by The Beacon Fellowship, which aims to raise the profile of giving in the UK while acknowledging and rewarding exceptional philanthropic acts by individuals.
