New director of corporate social responsibility at Whitbread

David Gallacher is the new corporate social responsibility director at hospitality company Whitbread plc, responsible for the programme’s four key areas of workplace, marketplace, community and environment.
Having started work last month, he and his team will focus initially on strengthening understanding of the importance and relevance of corporate responsibility within the Whitbread organisation. To do this he will be delivering workshop programmes that encourage teams to take ownership of corporate responsibility issues through an understanding of their importance to the business and wider community.
David previously took a sabbatical from Whitbread working on community projects in Canada and Sri Lanka.
