VSO and HR company partner to promote volunteering

Human resources services specialist the Randstad Group has committed over 1 million euros to help fund International development charity VSO’s work over three years.

In addition the company will use its influence and network across Europe and North America to help recruit more volunteers.

VSO says that the extra income and Randstad’s promotion of VSO to their staff, flexworkers and clients will “vastly increase” the ability of VSO to recruit and place volunteers with local partners in developing countries during the initial
three years of the relationship.

The partnership is appropriate since both VSO and Randstad say they share a common core business, namely working to provide partner organisations with the right people, who have the right skills, in the right
place and time.

VSO believes that Randstad’s support will in particular help it to meet an increased demand for business and management skills in developing countries.
