Help the Aged campaign shortlisted for IPR award

Help the Aged has been shortlisted for an award for its Winter Deaths campaign by the Institute of Public Relations.

The charity has reached the last six in the not-for-profit category of the IPR Excellence Awards. The category attracted over 100 entries. The winner will be revealed at a presentation dinner at the Hilton Hotel, London on 5 July 2004.

Using Help the Aged’s own research, which highlighted that 22% of older people were sometimes forced to choose between heating and eating, the charity’s campaign vigorously drew attention to this situation, raising public awareness and forcing the government to respond.
