MDRC to maintain more charity clothing banks

Howard Lake | 5 May 2004 | News

Charity clothing banks where people can donate unwanted clothes don’t clean themselves. Dorset-based MDRC Group are one group that maintains and cleans these items and it has recently expanded its work with charities.

The Mobile Maintenance division of MDRC Group has won more contracts to maintain charity clothing collection banks across southern England. It is now ensuring that clothing banks operated for Oxfam and the Salvation Army are kept clean and presentable to encourage the public to donate.

Martin Izzard, MDRC’S Mobile Maintenance Director, says that their van-based teams are currently surveying and providing their service to 328 Salvation Army banks in Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset. Overall the company refurbishes and repairs over 50,000 commercial waste containers for local authorities, waste management companies, and housing associations.
