B&Q offers £50-500 of goods for local environmental projects

DIY retailer B&Q is backing the environmental campaign Environment Agency Action Earth run by the national charity CSV (Community Service Volunteers) in the run-up to World Environment Day on 5 June 2004.

Environment Agency Action Earth 2004 already has more than 700 registered projects across England and Wales. It asks people to identify ways in which they can improve their local environment and then organise their own projects to meet that community need. By registering their project with CSV, community groups are eligible for a small grant to help with set-up and running costs.

Under its “Better Neighbour” grant scheme B&Q will contribute additional funding in the form of sustainable materials from anything from £50 to £500 per project providing the store has funding available within their budget and that the project meets certain criteria.
