Charity Consultants launches new management consultancy unit

Howard Lake | 25 February 2004 | News

The Charity Consultants Management Unit will help charity trustees and senior managers on both the strategic and the operational issues that they face.

This new service, headed up by Diane Yeo, will offer potential clients consultancy, research, hands-on help and support. In particular it will offer advice on, and help with, governance, strategic planning, trustee and board development, coaching and mentoring, recruitment and human resource matters, organisational development, communications, fundraising, legal and financial issues.

Diane Yeo said at the unit’s launch: “Organisations involving volunteers as well as paid staff, with aims which cannot be measured in purely financial terms, pose subtle and complex management challenges which are often outside the experience of conventional business consultants. But it is often difficult to know just who to call in and for which services. Over the years, as a charity chief executive and trustee, I have learned who the real experts are. They may be former senior managers or trustees of charities large or small. They may be professionals with charity expertise in law, accountancy or human resources.
