Two more charities join Whitewater's In Memoriam service

Children’s charity NCH and Kew Gardens have joined ‘Our Lasting Tribute’, the In Memoriam fundraising campaign set up by direct marketing and fundraising agency Whitewater.

In its first year of operation 30 charities have joined ‘Our Lasting Tribute’, Whitewater’s in memoriam fundraising service. Several are “already seeing significant income growth as a result of new in memoriam programmes”, says the agency.

Member charities include some of the UK’s largest, such as Cancer Research UK and RSPB, as well as smaller specialist organisations like The Jennifer Trust for SMA and Friends of the Elderly.

Recent high profile tribute funds set up include one by Dame Judi Dench in memory of her late husband, Michael Williams, on behalf of the British Lung Foundation.

Chrissy Papworth, Legacy Campaign Manager at new member NCH, said: “In Memoriam fundraising is an area where we knew we needed a more strategic approach, and the Our Lasting Tribute service provides us with exactly what we were looking for.”

To handle the growing number of charities establishing ‘Our Lasting Tribute’ fundraising programmes, former Stonewall Development Director Rupert Tebb has been recruited by Whitewater to manage member services. In addition, Matthew Hunt has joined the team as Head of UK Marketing and Product Development. Matthew was previously an Account Director at direct marketing agency WWAV. Charlotte Harris, who managed the UK launch of ‘Our Lasting Tribute’ is now investigating opportunities for the service outside the UK.

John Grain, Managing Director of Our Lasting Tribute, said: “The last year has been tremendously exciting for Our Lasting Tribute. With our expanded five person team, I feel confident that we can make the service we provide even more successful for our clients.”
