Spinal Research appoints Head of Fundraising

Carol Borwick has joined neuroscience charity Spinal Research in the new role of Head of Fundraising.

She will head up the fundraising team, covering trusts, individuals, corporate, legacies and event-based programmes such as the successful Runners Network and Saddle-Up, which works with the equestrian community. Part of her objectives will be to accelerate progress towards repair of paralysing injuries.

Borwick has previously been an active fundraiser with the Royal Marsden Hospital and the British Lung Foundation. She has also raised funds for English National Opera. Before moving into the voluntary sector she spent 12 years in marketing at financial services company, Liverpool Victoria. With a remit covering PR, sponsorship, event management and cause-related activity, she was responsible for managing and developing the successful LV Charity Challenge.
