Howard Lake | 7 August 2003 | News

BBC Learning Zone, BBC 2’s overnight record and play education service will be retransmitting its series of programmes working in the community later this month.

The BBC’s ‘Working in the Community’ is a two-week series which takes a look at working as a volunteer, how volunteers can change people’s lives, how to raise funds, deal with the media, reflect the diversity of a community and communicate well with people. It features advice on how to apply for lottery funding for community groups and there is also a practical guide to health and safety for those organisations using volunteers.

‘Working in the Community’ transmits each weekday from Monday 11 to Friday 22 August 2003 on BBC 2 from 05.00-06.00.
