Chief Executive of Diabetes UK awarded OBE
Paul Streets, Chief Executive of Diabetes UK, has been awarded the OBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services towards people with diabetes.
Streets has worked at Diabetes UK, formerly the British Diabetic Association, since July 1998. He has steered the charity through some major changes, including a new corporate identity in 2000. He was also instrumental in shaping the English National Service Framework for Diabetes (NSF), and also worked to ensure framework services in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Streets said: “I regard this as a great honour, but it is also recognition of the work we are doing at Diabetes UK. I work with a tremendous team of people, who share my vision of a future without diabetes.”
