Institute of Cancer Research doubles affiliates' commission rate

Howard Lake | 4 June 2003 | News

The Institute of Cancer Research is now offering its Web affiliates £1 for each person that fills in its online legacy form.

The Institute of Cancer Research is one of the few UK charities that has tested online affiliate programmes, and the only one that has focused on legacy fundraising in this regard. The charity seeks pay-for-performance banner advertising on Web sites that are visited by people who share a profile with their supporters, namely those aged 45+ who interested in children, travel, gardening, fine wines, gourmet foods and charitable causes.

The charity is prepared to pay 50p for each visitor generated by an affiliate who clicks through and fills in its online legacy form.

In common with many other merchants that run affiliate programmes, ICR is doubling its commission rate over the summer from 50p to £1.

ICR’s affiliate programme is managed by Tradedoubler.co.uk.

The British Red Cross has also increased its commission from 5% to 7.5% for direct debit donations generated from affiliates’ Web sites. The BRC’s affiliate programme is managed by UKaffiliates.com.
