UK school children get more pocket money

Charities with schools fundraising programmes should be encouraged to learn that children aged between 10 to 13, or “tweenagers” as some would call them, have more spare cash than their counterparts in any western European country.

They get a weekly average of £7.58 in pocket money and payments for odd jobs. The average for western Europe as a whole is £4.79 a week.

The figures come from market analysts Datamonitor.
