Fundraising flourishes at the RHS Flower Show

Howard Lake | 23 August 2002 | News

Charities involved in the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park raised over £20,000 from the 102,000 visitors.

As well as running stalls, several organisations chose to work with designers and even create their own show and back-to-back gardens. The Anthony Nolan Trust’s ‘The Purrfect Garden’ helped them to raise over £4,000.

Jane Wilkinson, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, worked with Toby and Stephanie Hickish of Summers Gardens Ltd to create the “Hope Springs” garden. “Our volunteers were able to collect donations at the garden during the five days,” she said, “and raised a magnificent £7,100.
