Charity chiefs call for 10% payroll giving top-up to continue

Charity leaders are calling on Chancellor Gordon Brown to continue a 10% government supplement on all donations made by supporters directly from their pay packets.
A campaign to retain the supplement has been launched by a forum of charities, professional fundraising organisations and payroll giving agencies under the aegis of the Institute of Fundraising’s Payroll Giving Forum.
A petition to save the 10% is to be launched at the Institute of Fundraising Convention in Birmingham on July 15 2002.
