Football Aid raises £250,000
Football Aid uses e-mail as part of its £250,000 fundraising success.
Football Aid raised £250,000 this year with an online auction. Supporters were offered the chance to plan on the “field of dreams” on the home grounds of 40 football clubs, including Aresenal, Aston Villa and Celtic. In addition fans could bid for the chance to visit their teams’ dressing rooms and be led out onto the pitch by a former star at the club.
Director of Football Aid Wendy Tavendale said “the Internet was an obvious choice for us. It is a very cost-effective medium. It was great to be able to communicate with the participants using e-mail, and to build up profiles of users.”
