Charity Choice, “the encylopaedia of charities,” has launched Goodwill Gallery, a new service that allows the public and businesses to donate free goods and services to charities. Offers are listed for free.

The site offers a simple listing in three categories – professional services, volunteering, and goods. The listings are not searchable by date or area, although each listing appears with a geographical description. Listings appear in chronological order, but there is no addition or expiry date for each item.

The idea for the gallery was originally conceived by Claudia Rios, Charity Choice editor: ‘I realised there was a real need for this type of notice board after receiving more and more e-mailed charitable offers from individuals and businesses around the UK,’ explained Claudia.

Goodwill Gallery sends out e-mail notifications of new additions to all charities that are currently listed on Charity Choice. Other charities can ask to be added to the list.

It has also contacted manufacturing companies and department stores asking them to donate goods online.
