France bans Web ads on TV

French non-profits planning to promote their Web sites on direct response TV adverts must be having a hard time of it. The French Council of State has banned the advertising of Web sites on television. The Council ruled that the Higher Audio-Visual Council had not been qualified to make the decision to allow companies to advertise Web sites on TV.
