US Red Cross raise $340,000 in online auction

The Seattle chapter of the American Red Cross has raised $340,000 in its first national Internet-based fundraising auction. The chapter raised $90,000 more than their goal and are planning to run the auction internationally next year. Their online auction last year raised $118,000. This year’s 10-day event on behalf of 30 local Red Cross chapters attracted 175,000 unique visitors, up from 11,000 last year.

The Seattle chapter’s Web site has also raised $25,000 from 150 gifts in the past year.
