Research from Nielsen reports that during March 2000 UK Internet users spent an average of five hours and sixteen minutes online. They went online an average of 12 times for 27 minutes on each occasion. During the month they visited 18 different sites, viewing 417 pages, or 36 pages per session.

This might still seem a relatively low figure, but it should be more than enough for charities to work with. If, for example, you have succeeded in encouraging your supporters to set your charity’s site as their start page then an average of 12 visits a month is surely more contacts than a charity would normally have with their supporters.
